Game Brainstorm

I have a few game ideas, some of which are remakes of old games and adaptations of comic books, but others are my own original ideas.

Let's start with the remake. The game I'd love to make would be Ubisoft's Prince of Persia from 2008. You play as the Prince(we are never give his name) and you're accompanied by Princess Elika and fight against an evil god and his minions to bring back the light into the world. It's one of my favorite games and I always felt like it was missing something. It has a few versions:
the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC version, the Nintendo DS version and two Mobile game versions(one being 2D and the other 3D). I'm not yet sure which one I could adapt with Unity, but I'd love to remake that story and it's elements. This game features plenty of dialogue, plenty of parkour elements and interesting combat mechanics. The level design is like a 3D platformer due to the world of the game being destroyed by an evil god. It has interesting combat mechanics that require you to use both protagonists depending on the enemy and it let's you pull some amazing, visual combos. I'd like to add more characters and a bit more variety( both character and level wise ) to the game. I'd like to include, at least in some way, the original graphic aspect of the game. The game looks like a cartoon-like animation. characters and the environment have those outlines that give out a drawing appeal. Lastly I want to include a different progression system to the game, one that allows you to build armor and upgrade/get new abilities. In the original game powers could only be unlocked in order to travel around certain areas of the map, only other characters were enemies that had their allocated areas which cancelled the element of surprise and there were no NPC's which made the game kinda "dead". Speaking of death, in this game you can't die, it's a very silly mechanic, you won't fall because Elika will catch you, you can't get killed by an enemy because you can dodge until your health is restored, it makes the game a bit pointless. I want to add the option to die in game just to make it a bit more meaningful story and gameplay wise. Also maybe add multiple endings like a "good and evil ending".

Now let's move on to an adaptation of one of my favorite comic books, DC comics Suicide Squad. Warner Bros released a film based in the comic back in 2016 but it wasn't that good to be honest. However, ignoring the whole aspect of the film I'd like to focus on the original source material. The team would be similar to the one in the film consisting of Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Killer Crock, Captain Boomerang, Katana, Enchantress and Rick Flag. It would be in first person as I want it to have a lot of first person shooter elements but also hand to hand combat, depending on the character you play with. This brings me to my next point which is the fact that you'll be able to switch between the squad members, each would have different abilities. Characters can be customized and upgraded and have several weapons. Missions can be stealthy or you can walk in gun blazing. My inspiration for the game comes from titles like Call of Duty and Metal Gear Solid as well as Overwatch. I would have the character of Amanda Waller give out tasks before each mission begins, some characters would have different tasks but it would be up to you to decide which character does which task. I'd also like to add different environments to the game like a Jungle, Village, City or a secret fortress belonging to a dictator or a terrorist for instance, or maybe another DC villain. It would be a vibrant yet violent game, we're talking, pegi 18 rating. I had this idea ever since Rocksteady pulled the plug on their Suicide Squad game idea, they're also responsible for another DC comics title, the Batman Arkham series. Anyways I think this idea would work as a game based on the Suicide Squad comics.

One of my original game ideas is actually inspired by a few games that are being developed right now, Cyberpunk 2077 ,Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Furi. Cyberpunk 2077 is based in a dystopian future when most people have augmentations( they're basically cyborgs ) and is set in a crime ridden city. Sekiro is about a samurai with a prosthetic grapple arm. Furi is also about a samurai but it's an indie game and I wish to use it's style for most of my games since I'll be working with Unity. Taking elements from all these games here is my idea:

Set in a city in a dystopian future, you're a mercenary who is also a Ronin( samurai without a master ). People pay you to carry out tasks, like being an enforcer, body guard, assassin etc. You work with all sorts of people like mafia, gang leaders. the police etc. It would be a free roam game kinda like Final Fantasy VII. It would be a third person game with parkour elements and you'll have a vehicle to travel faster. I was thinking of giving the main character a cool futuristic motorbike. You can make your own character, select gender and overall appearance and a name. The character would have two katanas, a revolver and a bow. The character also has a prosthetic arm that let's them add a certain ability to their weapon, the ability would depend on a special power crystal installed into the arm. The crystals would have different colours, each representing a different elemental power. Powers would be Fire, Electricity and Ice. Again like the previous games there would be an upgrade system where you unlock skills and abilities as well as equipment. Each crystal can be unlocked throughout the game in different locations. Not sure how far I can go with this idea.

My last idea is another comic book adaptation based on Marvel's The Unworthy Thor run. It's one of my favorite stories. The game would have elements of this book incorporated with my own ideas for the story. This idea was also inspired by the recent God of War game. Starting off as Thor the god of thunder and possessing his hammer Mjolnir, you come to a point where Thor is no longer worthy of his hammer and is banished from his home world, Asgard and Earth( Midgard ). All you are left with is an axe and his ram that let's him fly around. Throughout the game you will be on a quest to become worthy and once again become an Avenger as well as prevent Ragnarok( end of the world in norse mythology ). You will have quests in different realms which are under Asgard's protection. These are Muspelheim( world of fire ), Alfheim( world of light elves ), Vanaheim( world of the Venir, sister to Asgard), Asgard( restricted to Thor by Odin ), Midgard( Earth, also restricted by Odin ), Jotunheim( home to the frost giants), Svartalfheim( home to the dark elves ), Nidavelir( home to Dwarves ). Each of these worlds is different and each has different kind of people, allies and enemies. Dwarves can be used to gt upgrades. Main villains of the game would be Surtr, a fiery giant from Muspelheim, and Malekith, king of the dark elves. You'll encounter other characters like Loki, Hela, Valkirie, Odin, Heimdall and Laofei. You'll have to collect Uru( Asgardian metal from the comics ) and materials for armor, ram and axe upgrades. The levels will be Forests, Mountain Ranges, Castles, Towns, Tombs and Temples as well as rivers of ice and lava. You'll encounter different creatures such as trolls, ogres and dragons. You will travel between the realms using the Bifrost( bridge between worlds operated by Heimdall ). The ram will be used for faster travel around large areas.

  1. Hey Krystoff all of your game ideas sound amazing!! I like the idea of the Suicide Squad game, especially because of the different characters you can play. A mechanic often used in games like that is that after completing a level you can replay it with a different character and reach hidden areas or collectibles!
